Why Use a Travel Advisor When You Can Book Travel Yourself?

These days, you can book almost any vacation yourself. Cruise lines, resorts, airlines, hotels, and online travel sites make it easier than ever to click a few buttons and reserve a trip.

So why work with a travel advisor?

It’s a fair question.

At Beach Chair Bookings Travel LLC, my job isn’t simply to make a reservation you could have made yourself. My goal is to help you sort through the choices, understand what you’re actually purchasing, and put the pieces of your vacation together so you can spend less time researching and more time looking forward to your trip.

There Are a LOT of Choices

Planning a cruise is a good example.

Which cruise line fits your vacation style? Which ship? What itinerary? Is a balcony worth the extra money? Should you purchase the drink package? What about specialty dining, Wi-Fi, excursions, transfers, gratuities, and travel insurance?

And that’s before we start talking about flights, hotels, passports, and transportation to the cruise terminal.

The lowest advertised fare isn’t necessarily the best overall value.

A travel advisor can help you look at the whole vacation, not simply the price shown on the first screen.

Cruises Aren’t One-Size-Fits-All

One of my specialties at Beach Chair Bookings is cruise vacations, and something I quickly learned is just how different cruise lines and ships can be.

A couple looking for a quiet anniversary getaway probably has very different priorities from a family traveling with young children. Someone interested in Alaska may care more about itinerary and excursions, while a Caribbean traveler might be focused on beaches, entertainment, and the ship itself.

Even cabin selection matters.

Inside, ocean-view, balcony, suite, spa cabin, aft-facing balcony—the choices can become confusing quickly.

My job is to help narrow those choices based on your priorities, your budget, and the type of vacation you actually want.

More Than Just Cruises

Although cruising is a major focus of Beach Chair Bookings, it isn’t all I can help with.

I can assist with:

  • Ocean and river cruises
  • All-inclusive resorts
  • Theme park vacations
  • Custom vacations
  • Hotels and pre- or post-cruise stays
  • Excursions and tours
  • Airport and destination transfers
  • Travel insurance

That means we can look at the entire trip instead of treating every reservation as a separate transaction.

What Happens When Something Goes Wrong?

This may be one of the biggest reasons to work with a travel advisor.

Travel doesn’t always go according to plan.

Flights get delayed. Weather changes. Cruise itineraries change. Reservations get confusing. Sometimes you simply have a question and don’t know whom to contact.

When you book everything on your own, you’re also responsible for figuring everything out on your own.

When you book through Beach Chair Bookings, you have a travel advisor who knows your trip and can help you determine the next step.

I can’t prevent airlines from delaying flights or Mother Nature from changing the weather, but I can help you prepare for the unexpected and navigate your options when problems occur.

What About Travel Insurance?

Travel insurance is another part of vacation planning that’s easy to overlook.

Policies aren’t all the same, and coverage can vary considerably depending on the plan.

Depending on the policy, travel insurance may provide benefits related to trip cancellation or interruption, medical emergencies, travel delays, baggage problems, and other covered situations.

Rather than automatically clicking the insurance box during checkout, I can help you explore available options so you can make an informed decision about protecting your vacation investment.

Do I Pay More to Use Beach Chair Bookings?

Beach Chair Bookings does not charge clients a professional planning fee.

My goal is to help you find a vacation that makes sense for you while providing personal service before, during, and after the booking process.

That doesn’t mean I’ll always recommend the least expensive option. Sometimes spending a little more can provide significantly better value, while other upgrades simply aren’t worth the additional cost.

I’ll help you understand the difference.

A Travel Advisor Should Make Travel Easier

I spent nearly four decades in government service, including 21 years serving in the United States Air Force. Attention to detail, planning, and taking care of people were important throughout my career.

Those same principles are now part of how I approach travel planning.

Beach Chair Bookings isn’t about pushing a particular cruise line, resort, or vacation package.

It’s about finding the vacation that’s right for you.

You make the memories.

We Plan the Details, You Make the Memories.

Ready to Start Planning?

Whether you’re considering your first cruise, an all-inclusive getaway, a theme park vacation, or that bucket-list trip you’ve been talking about for years, I’d be happy to help you explore the possibilities.
